Description

These Jalapeno Popper Mummies are spooky, cheesy, and irresistibly delicious! Wrapped in crescent dough and stuffed with a rich cream cheese filling, they make the perfect Halloween party snack for both kids and adults. Fun, flavorful, and ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 jalapeños, sliced in half lengthwise and seeds removed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 oz Pillsbury crescent rolls
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • 40 small candy eyeballs or sliced black olives

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare Jalapeños
Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to remove seeds and ribs. (Wear gloves if needed.)
  3. Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Fill Jalapeños
Spoon or pipe the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half.
  5. Wrap the Mummies
Unroll the crescent dough. Pinch seams together to form 4 rectangles, then slice each into 10 thin strips (you’ll have 40 strips). Wrap 2 strips around each filled jalapeño, leaving space at the top for the eyes.
  6. Egg Wash
Brush each wrapped jalapeño with egg wash.
  7. Bake
Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. Add Eyes
Immediately press candy eyes or olive slices onto each mummy while still warm.
  9. Serve
Let cool slightly and serve warm with dips of choice.

Notes

  • Want more flavor? Add crumbled cooked bacon to the cheese filling.
  • Air fryer version: Preheat to 375°F, air fry for 8–10 minutes.
  • Use sweet mini peppers instead of jalapeños for a kid-friendly, non-spicy version.
  • Candy eyes make them fun for kids, but sliced black olives are a savory adult-friendly option.
  • These can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
