Ingredients

							Scale

			- 10 jalapeños, sliced in half lengthwise and seeds removed
 - 8 oz cream cheese, softened
 - 8 oz Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
 - ½ teaspoon garlic powder
 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
 - ¼ teaspoon salt
 - ¼ teaspoon black pepper
 - 12 oz Pillsbury crescent rolls
 - 1 egg, lightly beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
 - 40 small candy eyeballs or sliced black olives

Instructions
- Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and spray lightly with cooking spray. - Prepare Jalapeños
Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to remove seeds and ribs. (Wear gloves if needed.) - Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth. - Fill Jalapeños
Spoon or pipe the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half. - Wrap the Mummies
Unroll the crescent dough. Pinch seams together to form 4 rectangles, then slice each into 10 thin strips (you’ll have 40 strips). Wrap 2 strips around each filled jalapeño, leaving space at the top for the eyes. - Egg Wash
Brush each wrapped jalapeño with egg wash. - Bake
Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. - Add Eyes
Immediately press candy eyes or olive slices onto each mummy while still warm. - Serve
Let cool slightly and serve warm with dips of choice.
Notes
- Want more flavor? Add crumbled cooked bacon to the cheese filling.
 - Air fryer version: Preheat to 375°F, air fry for 8–10 minutes.
 - Use sweet mini peppers instead of jalapeños for a kid-friendly, non-spicy version.
 - Candy eyes make them fun for kids, but sliced black olives are a savory adult-friendly option.
 - These can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
