Description

Sweet, smoky, and just a little spicy — these grilled pineapple slices with a zesty chili-lime glaze are the ultimate summer side. Perfect with grilled chicken, tropical bowls, or eaten straight off the grill.

Ingredients

Scale
Pineapple rings and seasonings ready for grilling
Just a few simple ingredients transform pineapple into a savory side
  • 1 fresh ripe pineapple, peeled, cored, and sliced into ½-inch rings
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (fresh)
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, honey, chili powder, and salt to make your glaze.
  3. Lightly brush pineapple slices with olive oil on both sides.
  4. Place pineapple rings on the hot grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden grill marks appear.
  5. In the final minute of grilling, brush each slice with the chili-lime glaze.
  6. Remove from grill and brush with remaining glaze before serving.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature as a flavorful tropical side.

Notes

This recipe works great with pineapple chunks on skewers too.

For a milder flavor, omit the chili powder or reduce the amount.

Pairs beautifully with Hawaiian Huli Huli Chicken or grilled tofu.
