Description

Cheesy taco pinwheels are the ultimate 20-minute air fryer appetizer! This simple cheesy taco pinwheels recipe is made with seasoned ground beef, cream cheese, cheddar, and flour tortillas—crispy on the outside, gooey and flavorful inside. Perfect for parties, quick lunches, or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ pound ground beef (or 1 cup leftover taco meat)
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 3 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon sour cream
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef
In a small skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until no longer pink, crumbling as it browns. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add Taco Seasoning
Add ¼ cup water and taco seasoning to the skillet. Stir and simmer 5–10 minutes until the liquid evaporates. Let it cool slightly.
  3. Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine cooked beef, cream cheese, and sour cream. Mash together with a fork until smooth and creamy. Taste and add salt if needed.
  4. Assemble the Pinwheels
Divide the filling evenly between two tortillas. Spread to the edges. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each.
  5. Roll & Slice
Roll each tortilla tightly. Trim off uneven edges. Slice each roll into 5 even pinwheels.
  6. Air Fry
Arrange pinwheels in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Air fry at 370°F (190°C) for 5 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Serve
Serve warm with salsa, guacamole, or your favorite dip.
